Welcome to bekindtoyourself. I am dedicated to providing supportive and effective cognitive behavioural therapy for eating disorders. To ensure a clear and safe therapeutic journey, please take a moment to understand our terms and conditions. These guidelines are designed to protect both you and our service, fostering a transparent and trusting environment.

Important safety information

Please be aware that we are not an emergency service.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis the following options are available to you

  • Call 111 for free and choose option 2. Open to people of all ages 24/7. A trained mental health professional will be able to offer assessment and support. 
  • If you are a Hertfordshire resident, call our Single Point of Access (SPA) Mental Health Helpline team on 0800 6444 101
  • Call 116 123 for free or email jo@samaritans.org. Open to people of all ages 24/7. Use this to contact and talk to a Samaritans listening volunteer.
  • Nightlight Crisis Helpline: Call on 01923 256391. Open every night from 7pm to 1am, 7 days a week (nightlight@hertfordshiremind.org)
  • Nightlight Crisis Cafes: Crisis Cafés atWatford and Stevenage are open 7pm to 1am every evening, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Crisis Cafés at Ware and Hatfield are open 7pm to 1am on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
  • The Mental Health Urgent Care Centre, The Glaxo Building, Lister Hospital. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tel: 01438 285916

If you are experiencing a physical/medical health crisis, the following options are available to you.

  • Call 111 for free. Open to people of all ages 24/7. A trained call assessor will be able to offer assessment and support and signpost you to the most appropriate care for your condition.
  • Contact your GP within business hours.

If the above options do not resolve the mental/physical/medical crisis and you need immediate support to remain safe, please call 999 or attend an Accident & Emergency department (A&E).

 

Confidentiality and your safety

Confidentiality is paramount in our therapeutic relationship. Everything discussed during your sessions will be kept private. However, in instances where you disclose information indicating a risk of harm to yourself or others, particularly concerning abuse, I may be legally and ethically obliged to inform relevant competent services to ensure your safety and the safety of others. This action would always be taken with careful consideration and, wherever possible, discussed with you first.

Your privacy and data protection

We are fully committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with the highest level of care. All client data is processed in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means your information is stored securely, used only for the purposes of your therapy, and you have rights regarding access, correction, and deletion of your data.
